Here’s something fun for?Mega Man fans – the?Mega Man ZX series is actually getting some love thanks to the?Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. Japanese manga news site Comic Natalie reported earlier this week that the Mega Man ZX manga released in 2007 is getting a rerelease by Fukkan.com, a publisher focused on bringing back books that have gone out of publication.
The manga rerelease will be split into two volumes, and will be given brand-new cover art by Hitoshi Ogino, the mangaka who originally drew it back in 2007. Volume 1 is already available via Fukkan.com, while Volume 2 will be released in late March.
One thing that’s special about this rerelease is that it will actually include the?Mega Man ZX Advent manga that was only released as a bonus booklet alongside?Famitsu. Additionally, both?Mega Man Zero character designer Toru Nakayama and?Mega Man ZX character designer Makoto Yabe have drawn illustrations in the volumes to congratulate the manga’s rerelease. A completely new ‘Mega Man ZX Advent Bangaihen’ chapter will be included for people who purchase both volumes via Fukkan.com.
The?Mega Man ZX manga was actually brought to the West back in 2010 by Udon Entertainment, but has remained scarce since. While this new release of the manga is likely not going to make it overseas, it does give some hope that Western players will get a chance to read through the Japanese?Mega Man ZX Advent manga chapters that were only available in Japan up until now.
Mega Man ZX and?Mega Man ZX Advent are available on Nintendo DS. Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection?is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Hitoshi Ogino actually contributed art for?Zero/ZX Legacy Collection‘s Japanese launch, and you can check it out here.
